Inexplicably, IBM/Lenovo put a proprietary "enhanced ATA" interface into the T43, which means you can use ONLY Lenovo drives (shades of Compaq from the early 1990s). If you put any standard ATA drive in your T43, you will get an error message on bootup every time, warning you of a coming tsunami or a flock of missionaries on your doorstoop (or something like that). Amazon was the cheapest place to buy this. For about 6 months or so, I've been using it as the primary drive in my T43 (I have another 100GB in my Ultrabay). It's slowing down as it approaches full, and since I try to back up routinely, I need to clean it off. It's quiet (many complain of drive noise). It's basically invisible. What more could you want?
