Prepare your servers for a blackout with a 120v battery pack UPS

What’s the worst thing that could happen when you are running your home office network on severs right at home? That’s right! A fluctuation in power or a temporary power cut. This could be disastrous at times as there is a small chance that it could completely erase or damage your data. To avoid this potentially disastrous situation you should get yourself a UPS.
A UPS or an uninterrupted power supply unit is not only essential to keep your server running but also letting them shutdown without backing up your data. UPS’s are also useful for your home desktop computers as they also require you to shut them down in the right way rather than just pulling the plug. It could also happen that your server’s operating system could get damaged in case you switch it off directly. UPS’s now days offer you up to 10 hours of power backup in case of emergencies. They will immediately kick in during a power cut without any delay thereby protecting your servers and computers.
UPS’s these days also protect your computers and servers from high voltage fluctuations which could cause your servers permanent physical damage as well. Once they detect a rapid change in voltage they usually let the battery kick in and cut out the external power source till voltage stabilizes. This way even if there is low voltage your systems will be up and running without any problems. UPS’s with large 120v battery packs will offer you a lot more battery time compared to lower ones. A 120v battery pack usually offers 10 to 12 hours of battery life. This should be more than sufficient as power outages don’t last that long.
