Quad Core The Power of Four! The 2.66 GHz Quad Core Xeon Second Processor X5355 from Dell is designed for multi-processor systems. The quad-core processor architecture places four execution cores, or computational engines, within a single processor. This processor, with 1333 MHz front side bus speed, offers excellent performance and headroom for peak Internet server loads, resulting in faster response times, support for more users and improved scalability. The incorporated Virtualization technology provides hardware-assistance to virtualization software enhancing virtual environment. In addition, the Enhanced Speedstep Technology helps reduce average system power consumption and enhances system acoustics. It has been tested and validated on Dell systems. This product is supported by Dell Technical Support when used with a Dell system.Important Note: This processor requires a compatible motherboard. Systems with the compatible motherboard can be identified by the roman numeral 'II' on the outside of the chassis. Please verify that the customer has the correct motherboard before ordering these processors. Motherboard upgrades are not supported on this system.
