My setup is a G4 Mac Mini, and a beige G3--both of which work just fine on their own. I got the KVM switch. Keyboard, mouse and monitor work fine on the mini. Same on the G3 EXCEPT no mouse click. Mouse moved just fine, but wouldn't click. 'Techs' at Iogear said to upgrade the firmware on the KVM, which I did. Now, only the video works on the G3 side. No keyboard or mouse response. And the tech 'wizards' at Iogear (who all use voice over and sound like fish gurgling in a toilet bowl) have no clue what to do. I don't recommend using this 'switch'... especially when tech support is so lacking,,,oh,,, yes, they did tell me to switch cables, unplug and replug, shut down and start up,, blah blah. They're not even in India!!!

I bought this product because I had heard it would work with a wireless keyboard and mouse. I have the Microsoft Wireless 5000 keyboard and mouse and wanted my new Vista platform desktop to share the mouse, keyboard, monitor, audio and printer with my old reliable XP desktop. It seems to work just fine! There's even an additional usb slot for my external hard drive. Everything is connected and working well. The one thing I had problems with at first was that you have to hold the switch button for two seconds (not just a quick click) if you want ALL of the peripherals to be transferred to the other computer. I managed to miss this point when reading the documentation and couldn't understand why I was getting sound from one computer while the monitor, mouse and keyboard were working with the other. I finally caught that trick but it was easily missed if you're installing in a hurry. The upside is that you can put a CD in one computer and listen while working with a memory hog program on the other computer. I would recommend this product.
