3Com Switch 4500G 1-Port 10-Gigabit Module (XFP)

The 3Com Switch 4500G has 2 rear slots for 10-Gigabit modules. This module uses an XFP transceiver, sold separately.10-Gigabit Ethernet is a standards-based method for connecting at performance 10x that of Gigabit Ethernet, and is the perfect aggregation technology when deploying gigabit to the desktop or for interconnecting core and distribution switches. The module provides one high-performance 10-Gigabit connection between devices for bandwidth-intensive applications, and uses industry-standard XFP modular transceivers, sold separately, to provide a flexible physical media connection. In addition, the module offers a migration path from multiple aggregated Gigabit Ethernet links to high performance 10-Gigabit Ethernet switch-to-switch connections.
