I needed an external dial up modem, a friend told me try amazon.com I did found just what I needed, for free even, after sign up for amazon.com card, works fine and looks good too, good buy even at full price as advertised! John Cornsilk

This was a helpful item that I didn't even know was made. My mom actually uses dial up internet still and the port, that you insert a modem or wireless or ethernet card was broken, so we thought there was no way for her to get online. Luckily enough, it works like a charm and since the computer is older it does not have a USB 2.0 but a 1.3 instead, and these modems work perfect with those too.
