I bought these headphones last Christmas - agree 100% with all the great reviews given. My current hang up...? I only paid $90.03 for them in December 2008, and now they're $189. I'm looking to pick up another pair for my girlfriend, but will definitely wait to see how holiday pricing plays out!

After researching headphones from many brands, I decided to buy these headphones after reading the reviews here; and I'm glad that I brought these instead of the Bose. These are half the price of the Bose ones and work just as well. I took these over to Afghanistan and they have been through almost anything. I've been able to sleep on airplanes including C-130s, C-17s, chinooks & blackhawks. They are very comfortable to my ears; almost a perfect fit. These are just awesome headphones.

Most if not all the positive reviews were from when this product was $125. Now the price is up to $190 and actually this product has been discontinued and replaced by the ANC-7b. Not sure what the difference is but the 7b is also at the $190 price point. Was good value when I got them considering I paid $125 a little less than a year ago. Just as good as my friend's Bose (not sure which one but it was the big over ear model). But, over time, a buzzing in the right earphone has gotten worse and worse. For example, with noise cancellation on but no music playing, when the pilot is talking over the loudspeaker, the right earphone produces crackling buzzing noise which follows the pilot's voice, almost like an echo. When listening to acoustic music or soft jazz, can definitely hear the buzz as well. Don't know about you but this noise drives me crazy. Rock music I think drowns out the buzz so less of an issue. As I googled this a bit, this seems like a common flaw (or feature?). I had the Brookstone's before which I bought based on a friend's recommendation. What a piece of junk. Based on the reviews here, Panasonic or the Denon seem ok but all are really pricey now, on par with the Bose perhaps making it less "overpriced." I thought there must be a decent value alternative as I can't get myself to buy the Bose which I still think is overpriced. But maybe based on quality assurance, the Bose are okay.
