I use the Belkin N1 Wireless Router which has excellent range and speed. I purchased this card to increase the speed and range on my HP Laptop (Pavillion dv6000)with Vista. I worked with this card and software for several hours and was unable to come close to the throughput and range of the Broadcom built-in wireless g WLAN adapter on the laptop. The performance was very poor and I returned it.

the software loaded and the product worked. That's as good as it gets. Pete

This card is faster than the built in "G" wireless card ever did. The signal is alway excellant. I'm using it with a Belkin "N" router. The security features are top notch and I highly recommend both. Installation of Belkin Network products is a breeze! I've had NETGEAR & others and this is by far the easiest. My one negative about this. This is my first time usung an express card. The card is kinda long & thin, but the card slot is wider at the opening. so it can slide from left to right a little. Naturally, it sticks out a little, wher the built in card was unseen, unfelt- but this would be the case with anything in a card slot. I've read a few neg reviews about the standard cardbus N1. I haven't used that version, but how much different could the circuitry be? I'm sure that its the same card in a a different form. I love my N1 express card!Belkin Wireless Express Card N1

This card had the worst range I have experienced. I am using it in conjunction with the matching Trendnet Router. I have 4 year old wifi cards that work better then this card.

This card is the right stuff! I purchased it for my wife to use in her laptop for college. The software and instructions are easy to use and understand. The card works flawlessly right out of the box. We use other products from the same maker. I would not hesitate to buy any TRENDnet products.

Love this for my laptop. replaced a USB wireless connector which was bulky and using precious ports. Install was quick with CD, connection is superb at the max rate, and worth every penny of the $50ish I paid.

el producto es muy bueno, el único detalle es que el cable usb que posee es muy corto.. Pero todo lo demás es perfecto..

Product works well. Shipped to me with v1.0 of the software -- had to get v1.1 from the website. Also, it's a little large, so it will block things that are very close (e.g. another USB port on top of or right next to it). Trendnet includes a small (about 2") USB extension cable to resolve the problem, though that's a little awkward. On the other hand, probably all wireless N usb adapters will have the same problem, because of the extra antenna & circuitry. Range and throughput are excellent, and it doesn't keep dropping connection like some adapters do.

I have been using this for about a month now, and it is working just fine. I had a little difficulty getting it set up, but despite being told that the connection was not established, once I rebooted it worked without any problems. Also, even though it works with Vista, it did not come with any of the necessary software. It was, however, easy to download it from the D-Link web site.

though it doesn't say so on the page, this is Revision A of this model, meaning that it is not compatible with Windows Vista x64 edition. Unfortunately I ordered this before finding out. I'm sure it works dece once you get the right revision though... info: http://support.dlink.com/products/view.asp?productid=DWA-130 :(

I have had no drop outs and the speed is very good. However, this thing burns like the sun. Who woulda thought a USB device could get this hot.

I bought this to replace one of my older adapters. The one this replaced was about 4 years old and I had lost the drivers for it, but was still able to use it with the M$ BT stack. This one beats it in every way other than it's class 2 vs class 1. This was no big deal for me since my priority was throughput over range. I mainly use it to tether my phone to my laptop for EVDO service. My old adapter would only connect at 1.0 Mbps. Not bad, but it was bottlenecking my speed. This adapter connects at 2.1 Mbps, so the actual connection is faster and I'm sure the EDR helps with the throughput. The adapter says it will connect up 3.0 Mbps, so I guess my phone tops out at 2.1. It says it also supports Sactternet and connections with up to 7 other active slave devices. I haven't had a chance to test this feature yet, but would come in handy if I were to also use a headset, A2DP, mouse, and keyboard at the same time. Range seems about right. I got about 30ft (and that's with 2 walls and a washer/dryer in between) before the connection became intermittent. For those wondering why this is not a class 1 it's probably because there is trade-off when it comes to range. You can ether have more range or more throughput at the expense of the other. I don't think there are any class 1 adapters that are also v2 + EDR. I noticed someone else say that it did not just work out of the box. For it to just work, it would have to be compatible with M$'s BT stack (I don't know if this one is, I didn't even try it). Even if it worked, I've always found M$'s BT stack to be a little lacking in features and settings. If you get this, do yourself a favor and use it with the included drivers (which are Widcomm 5.1, btw). Important thing with BT drivers is to run the install shell before connecting the adapter. Just follow the instructions, they are refreshingly very clear. Supported Profiles: DUN, FAX, BPP, LAP, SPP, GAP, HID, HCRP, FTP, OPP, A2DP, GAVDP, HSP, PAN, BIP, SYNC, AV, GOEP Pros: - Price - BT v2.0 + EDR - Supports Scatternet and up to 7 ACTIVE slave devices - Uses Widcomm 5.1 drivers (versus Blue Sol that usually comes with cheaper adapters) Cons: - Class 2 - Does not come with a cap (IMO, just another thing to lose, and mine stays plugged in anyway) I'm ordering 2 more to replace my other adapters :)

A real struggle to get operative. An email to the technical support went unanswered. Steer clear of this one if you don't enjoy technical hassles.

I have the latest drivers for Vista but I'm constantly plagued with connection issues. Right now I'm trying to download some images from my Samsung cell phone. The bluetooth app starts up and I hear a connection tone but nothing allows me to transfer the images. This sort of thing happens about half the time. Of course, A reboot will resolve things but that is a work-around, not a solution.

I plugged the adapter into my iBook G4, and although the box said I would have to go to the Apple website to get the driver, the iBook recognized it and iSync was automatically configured. I synced the phone and my address book and calendar were loaded to the phone. Good job!

I bought this to backup my cell phone contents on my Windows XP desktop computer. It installed fine. Then I got it to recognize my cell phone and backed it up. I will say that I am not very familiar with bluetooth technology. The first time you work with a bluetooth connection it is sort of like setting up a wireless network. You have to have the settings on the two devices correct or they won't recognize each other. I had to go to Bluetooth connections on my phone and turn on the visibility. Then I got my computer to search for bluetooth devices. It found my phone. Then I had to enter a passcode "0000" on both devices. Then they were paired and I could transfer data and backup my phonebook. I lost my phone once and I could replace the phone, but I hated typing in all the contacts again. I agree that the manual could be more comprehensive. It's basically an "installation guide" and not a users manual. There is a users manual on the cd that comes with the device and I did use that when I was making the Bluetooth connection with my Nokia 6126 phone.

Don't buy this if you're planning on using it with Vista x64 (64-bit edition of Vista). There aren't any drivers. And Vista barely works with Bluetooth as it is. Heck, Vista barely works as it is. If I were running this on WindowsXP (which I have done), I would give it five stars. It does seem to work and Belkin's drivers are cruft-free with nice clean interfaces with nary a garish skin in sight! Bless them for not making crummy, cluttered interfaces. Vista x64 user? 0 stars. XP user? 5 stars!
