For the most part, the distinction between Mac and PC has become quite clear as computer companies developed. Serious Mac users tend to be graphics artists, musicians, and video editors. PC users tend to be gamers, and business people. The real battleground is for the large group of people who use their computers in a more casual fashion. For those users, the Mac can have a pretty powerful draw with it's user friendly interface and quick learning curve. However, the PC offers a larger array of software and a certain familiarity for many people. If you are in this group, the easiest question to ask is "what am I familiar with?" It usually isn't worth making the switch if you aren't already familiar with the other side.
