This is a pretty basic piece of equipment - no frills here. It does fine job holding my notebook computer. It does seem overpriced in my opinion for what is does. I did not know about the side attachments when I bought it and thought it would be a nice addition, however it did not take but a few minutes for me to bust off the little hooks on the bottom (be careful). They still work, they are just not as secure. I use a Dell Latitude E5500, which I generally like, however the main draw back is all the ports (e.g., USB) are on the sides so it is not easy to pull all the cables together and you can't really use the rear portion of the riser. I have had to adjust the riser level so the cords do interfere with my Dell 22" monitor just to the left of it. Once you get it set up you will not likely want to adjusting the riser as it requires both hands to adjust it. Again it works fine, however if you are looking for some flexibility in quickly adjust height and/or moving it from a different workspace I would recommend checking out some of the different risers out there.

We wanted a moderately priced laptop stand to raise up the screens for all the laptops used in our office and tried out a few different products. This product was OK, but our "testers" universally preferred the Kensington Easy Riser Cooling Notebook Stand. We have standardized on that model, coupled with a Logitech keyboard (Deluxe 250 Vista Qualified USB Keyboard - Black). So the entire solution set came in @ about $40/person.

It's not sexy nor high-tech but it works great for me. I bought two for me and my wife at home and it's great so far. It even creates a small storage space underneath the laptop but guess a minor benefit. If you are a long-time laptop user, you want to make sure the center of your screen is in line or slightly below your eyes so your neck won't hurt. I learned this from hard lesson as a programmer and now pay 200% attention to this details. Gonna buy the 3rd now for my office laptop so not only raise the screen but also more align with my external 20" monitor.
