You would think a $400+ business machine would be able to handle simple business printing needs right?? Well guess again, if you bought this machine thinking you can use it to print with a variety of different papers you are sadly mistaken! I own a small business where we must print about 1000 pages a month using Brochure paper that is designed for Laser printers. After a few months of total agony dealing with continuous paper jambs we finally had enough and called Brother's customer service. The service rep immediately started reading off his computer screen to us. Buried deep within the manual and documentation Brother states this machine can not handle brochure or photo paper and I should have known better because they put it in the manual which is BTW sealed inside the box until you get this printer home and if you are dilegent enough to read the manual cover to cover I would have seen this!!!! What kind of crap is that! A business class machine for well over $400 that can not do the simplest business printing task! I could have bought a $30 ink jet printer that could do the same damn thing this printer does! As you can see I am very upset that Brother has totally misrepresented this product as a business class machine when it is simply overpriced Ink jet. Don't make the same mistake I have, if you only print on standard copy paper you are fine, if you want to print on any other type of stock DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER!!!!!!!

Those who rated this product favorably must have low expectations for things on which they spend sizable amounts of money. I rarely leave feedback and only do so when a product falls into either extreme of performance -- very good good or horrible. In this case, the product is horrible. To start, it makes a lot of noise, not as bad as a vacuum cleaner, but close. Second, its customer support is terrible, and its instructions for setting up a wireless network are poor. Third, it fails to do the very job it was designed to perform -- it can't print an envelope without creasing it so as to make the envelope look horrible. Fourth, I constantly get errors when trying to print envelopes -- I now have to manually feed them to get them to print. Fifth, the "laser color" quality is poor; I have seen better with an inkjet. Last, their design tolerances are atrocious; I'm constantly unsure if the poorly designed plastic parts are going to break off when I adjust them. Don't waste your money.

Our business needed a color laser and I was at a loss where to start. I wasn't happy with Staples, so I looked on good ol' Amazon.com. That's where I found this Brother Color Laser and it is absolutely perfect. It's a nice compact size, and prints our color labels great! We couldn't be happier!
