I like this computer, I have another one with the same specs, and although I have had problems with the wireless adapter, HP customer service has been very responsive. The only problem that I have with the new one, is that its a refurbished laptop. I only found out it was refurbished when Tiger Direct had already shipped the computer to me. The product title didnt include the word refurbished and the only place where the the term refurbished is mentioned is in the expanded product description, and only once at the very end. I am trying it out but the bad part is I only have 3 months of warranty. Lets hope HP fixed any problems it had before putting it back on the market.

I own two of these. One was chosen as a training unit, an alternate to Mom's choice of a black MacBook. She's happy to use the Pavilion and as a dyed-in-the-wool Mac owner she is able to deal with Windows, let alone Vista. In spite of her aversion to the extraneous multimedia bits and pieces of both operating systems, she's happy with the stuff the Pavilion/Vista has, and what it doesn't. Can sometimes seem like a breath of fresh air. I can't speak to the game/frame rate performance of the machine(s), as the previous reviewer did. I also felt it'd be the easiest method to review and make use of Vista. Trust his thoughts. Why is it, that if a machine has capable performance specs, that its existence is boring in the review world? Since it's a laptop, perhaps the most important thing is that it works when you need it. There so many ancillary model numbers to all of these machines - note that Amazon is not carrying the unit, nary 6 weeks since its introduction. I must say that I chose this model due to the Turion processor - a cost/performance issue. Rugged enough and capable with some forgiveness in it's surfaces, this would be a respected business machine. The only issue I have is with the 6-cell battery, where the HP makes the 3-5 hour 12-cell battery available as a convenient extra: Nice marketing, but as the laptop purchaser who knows how long a notebook really lasts in the world, I'm not amused.

I bought this laptop mainly because of the new Windows Vista OS.I Took it right out of the box and it's was very easy to set up.It has 3 USB ports,120 gigs of hardrive memory which is pretty big for right now but I plan to add more in the future, 1 gig DDR2 RAM, a dvd burner, and more.I play alot online with games like Counter strike and Half life 2 on the steam engine. The game play is fast it doesnt't lag.I showed my friend and he loved this laptop we played CS with no lag and fast load times. It has a decent processor AMD Turion 64X2 dual core.I got the Notebook primarly for school but I seem to be using for anything but that. I have to admit I play with it more then with my desktop. This laptop looks great, everything about the notebook is nice.
