This is really a great wireless mouse for a laptop. It's small, travels well and the wireless USB receiver stows inside the mouse for easy packing. Like most wireless mice, you need to do something to get it active. I've found that simply pressing the left button gets it started if it's gone to sleep and that click is not interpreted so there is no risk of accidentally launching a program or other event. The one shortcoming it has is that when the mouse is sending, the blue light on the receiver which is quite bright flickers at a rapid rate and can be distracting and annoying if your laptop USB ports are on the side rather than in the back -- otherwise, I would have rated it a 5.
