    Helps find places

Pros: It has been a great help in getting us to places we have no knowledge of their location. Our last long trip was made so much easier by the directions, especially in conjested areas - warning of turns well in advance. Entering the destination and it gets us there.
Cons: The audio is much too quiet for me to hear as we are driving, even my wife has difficulty hearing it. We have had it come unplugged sometimes causing us to drive some distance before we realized it.

Pretty good navigation for Dell Axim X50
It would have been nice if you could see your whole trip right from the beginning. I does however direct you to your destination turn-by-turn though.
Pros: Pretty accurate and quick start. Video and audio quality is also great. Just type in the address and it takes you there. Should you miss your turn it redirects you automatically without needing to press any buttons.
Cons: Although the GPS receiver comes with CDs which has the maps of US and Canada you need a lot of memory on the Axim to install it. I bought a 4 gig Compact flash card for my Axim and was able to install the maps of the whole of US.

    GPS for Axim x51v
If I were doing it again I would buy a dedicated GPS, one that would let you see your whole trip from your starting point, and would warn you of approaching turns. It would be worth the extra cost.
    Pros: Accurate, clear screen
Cons: The Pharos software is difficult to use. If you want it to talk to you forget it. It rarely says anything. My last 300 mile trip I got it to tell me about one turn only, and it was 30 miles down the road, too. On long trips it's very annoying to be able to only load 3 active maps. Frequently I can't load the whole trip at once because of it.
