Could not get high quality scans. Tech support could not make it work beyond low quality. Software hangs up frequently requiring reboot. Software selections are limited, i.e., only some size pictures can be printed. When trying to update software the file is so large the download hangs up and will not install. Tech support says "It's a Microsoft problem, call them" No way to download the entire upgrade and then install from my hard drive. Don't push in photo tray or everything prints to the 4x5 paper. Ink runs out very fast so while it's cheaper, I seemed to be buying more all the time. I'm returning it and won't buy another.

Horrible printer. I have only had the printer for 6 months and the scanner won't allow me to print the files that I scan. Every time I try to open the All in One program, the kodak image locks up on my computer so I can't even get into the program to use the features. Now the ink won't print on the paper even after changing the cartridges. I have also tried to download the new program they offer to help with the problems it is having and I can't even do that. My computer is not that old so it is not the computer I am using. I have contacted Kodak and have spent numerous hours talking to there support center and nobody can help me. I should have stuck with my 5 year old HP.

I have had this printer for a year and I've been extremely happy with it. I use it many times a day and have printed as many as 100 sheets at one time. Pros: Print quality is very good on both text documents and photos, either scanned or directly from the camera, computer, card or USB. I haven't used it a lot but when I needed it, the fax has worked perfectly on both outgoing and incoming faxes. There have been no clashes with my Vista computer, either. The value in the cost of the ink cartridges and the enormous number of pages and photos they will produce is wonderful! Cons: The print head went bad about 6 months after I had it but Kodak shipped another overnight with a new set of ink cartridges, so thats a plus for Kodak CS! There was an issue with it printing bold black lines instead of text on portions of a document page, but it was an easy fix with a call to the Kodak CS. It is a bit noisy. It is heavy and it shakes a little when it begins to set itself up for printing so it needs to be on a sturdy, solid built table, not one of those half cardboard things. Bottom line: I have no regrets for having paid the full, new product price for the Kodak 5500 AIO. At the current prices, it is a fantastic bargain!
