As a long-time audiophile and gizmo freak, I'd been drooling over these earphones for quite some time now -- but had a difficult time justifying the price. I won't go into the technical details that are already echoed all over here -- but suffice it to say they are completely worth every penny when it comes to fit, comfort and sound quality. A bit of background: I'd previously been using the Shure SCL4's, with the primary use being when we travel. I say "we" because I got my (non-audiophile) wife to try them.....after which we purchased her a set that she uses every day during her commute on BART (train). Then when her father came to visit, I got him to try them. He immediately trashed his Bose Quiet Comforts and bought a set of SCL4's. Back to reality and the review of the SE530's. They are worth it -- even more so when you factor in the excellent price and shipping (plus sales tax situation) from here at Amazon. My final tip -- which is the end for the "whole story": Amazon is fantastic, and their system gives you choices of excellent vendors. When you are making product choices for a product as good as this, and the choices are all within a few dollars of each other -- it all boils down to customer service. I have used OneCall previously, and was very satisfied with their very quick shipping (never had to deal with any customer service issues with them). However I had some confusion (my confusion problem, not a problem with anything they did) and contacted OneCall's customer service to get it resolved. On a Saturday morning. I had a personalized response within less than an hour -- and couldn't be happier. So yes, this is an incredible product. What makes it even more worth it is a great vendor. (Followup -- 2 days later -- after some time with the 'phones) Oh my goodness!! Why did I wait so long to get these? I have to reiterate what others have said: I'm hearing things in songs that I hadn't heard before. Amazing. If you are an audiophile on the fence about getting something like this -- just do it. You won't regret it.

i just got them a month ago, they are amazing only thing i am worried about is the wires, i am using them carefully, sound is way better then bose, and noise isolation does work to a great extent, i live in san francisco, i use them in bart and does not feel any external noise. all i can say is you must listen to them then u will know what i mean. no way i can explain the brilliance of the quality
