I bought it, loved it, and used it every work day at the college where I was employed. We had offices, but there were not enough work stations. I used my SONY on a spare table and all was well. Strangely, the unit DIED on the next day that I gave up the chore of three freshman comp classes and a long drive in exchange for resuming my retirement. When I removed it from the case this last Monday, it was completely dead. No light, no fan, just zip anything. I had the warranty in hand, plus a three year one I purchased from Office Max. Hey-THANKS to the manager at the Griffin store (Pete),contact was made quickly with Sony, an extra service of a great business. The shipping box arrived, I packed the laptop and shipped it right away. Two days later, I go online and there on the Sony website is the information and reference numbers! Summary-I have no doubt the computer will be returned promptly. If I learned anything in my senior years (70), it is an essential move to buy where there is service to HELP get a warranty with a computer quickly and in the proper way, and that is person-to-person with a local business. I would mot denigrate the quality of this laptop, BUT I would advise on ANY computer a full year's warranty and spending a few bucks beyond that as I did.

Well it is a beautiful laptop! I love it.I really , really, really want it, BUT !!!!I cant use it. I got it friday , took it out of the box started it up and BAM! the keyboard does not work. Sony is sending someone over to my house to fix it and I hope they can fix it. We got it from amazon and i hope that if sony cant fix it that amazon will ship out a new one. Ive never had an issue with amazon so i have trust in them.I will keep you updated....

I got the Sony Vaio CR as a laptop as I went to college, and it has done me well. There were a few things I was worried about after reading the reviews, such as the battery pack, but I haven't noticed anything strange about it. Sometimes if a disk is in, randomly it will make a weird noise, but it goes away eventually and it's not too bothersome. The fan is silent, the screen is clear, and overall I think this is a good computer. I watch movies, play music, look at pictures, and use basic word processors with no problems. I've had it for three months now and still love it!
