I have owned many CPU fans. Many much larger and more expensive than this one. This one however is the best I have ever owned. Im using the fan on a stock Q9650 and it runs 10-15C cooler. Under 100% FPU load (The worst load) I cant get the cores over 55c. At full 2400RPM you cant hear the fan. Its well worth the cost. I can honastly say the only thing that works better is water cooling.

This is a very well done cooler. It far exceeds the original type cooler than cam with my CPU. It barely gets off idle speed, compared to full throttle with the other one that was there. Supposedly, a good cooler for the 2.66GHz Intel chip. I run this overclocked 30%. I run 4 hard drives, along with doing very big picture repairing, and often have 4-6 tabs open on sites. Which have Flash, and animations running, which increase the CPU load. This cooler now, just gets off idle, and is very quiet...Oh, I also have 2 external 120 mm fans, that I used to also have running to keep it cool. I now have them turned off. I wanted to mention the packing for this item. SUPER...Also, the shipping time was SUPER !!! Thank you for having a Great product, at a Great buying price. One main factor I almost forgot to mention is...the solid base copper mounting area, verses the tube contact on other brands. Great heat dissipater in comparison.

I installed this to replace an Evercool WC-202 water cooling system which was garbage. My hope for the Evercool was that it would be quiet and do a good job of cooling the CPU. It satisfied neither criterion. With the Evercool the CPU idled at 45C to 50C. Under 50% CPU load the CPU went to 90C. It was clear I needed something else. I installed the Thermaltake TMG i1 (easy with a largish case.) The mounting is the same as the standard Intel cooler that comes with the CPU. It is significantly quieter than the Evercool system. The CPU now idles at 35C and never quite makes it to 40C under 50% load. The power supply has the only other fan in the system and the motherboard maintains 45C with the case being exhausted by the TMG i1. The drives are solid state so the heat load is a bit lower than normal. The combination of excellent performance and surprisingly low cost make this an excellent choice.
