The underside of this stand has painted but otherwise naked sheet metal edges and exposed fans. A laptop stand should be able to fit in your lap and this one won't. A usb powered fan, especially, implies portable usage, but a portable stand needs to be smooth on the bottom. Why don't they include pictures of the bottom of the product?

only problem i have with this is that it doesn't look so good and the are rest is in a wired location. no one types with there hands so close to each other and in fact most of the time my hands are so away from each other that the hand rest just rests away in the middle. besides that its a good product to protect your labtop from getting over heated.
