I had this adapter for roughly a year before it failed. I purchased it to replace a bad OEM adapter that originally came with my laptop. (Unfortunately, I needed the adapter fairly urgently when I bought it and paid almost twice Amazon's price at a big-box retailer...shame on me!) But while Amazon's price is far more reasonable than what I paid, I would still expect it to have a better longevity than it did. It DOES have a car/airplane cord, which is nice if you need it (however, I never did). It also has a USB charging feature, but you need to buy an additional kit to make use of this. (Besides, this always struck me as VERY odd...why not just plug your USB device into the laptop you're already charging?!?) But the thing just didn't last! The poorly constructed cord came apart and frayed close to the laptop connection. I kept it limping along for a while with some electrical tape but it finally stopped supplying any power to my laptop no matter how much I wiggled and jiggled it. You can easily find far cheaper solutions (my replacement for this cost less than $15 and is more solid!) If you are using this to charge more than one laptop, maybe the universality of this adapter is attractive? Otherwise, I'd spend your money on something different.

It reduces the number of chargers you need when you travel, to one, The same for Ipod, Computer, and every gadget that use USB port to charge it. And you can conect to cigaret plug, to the wall or in the Airplane plug. It comes with diferent tips for use whit a very extensive list of computers Its a little heavy comparing to the regular Laptop charger but not so much

I've only had this power cord for less than a year and it started beeping intermittently. I paid approx $125 for it and now need to buy a new one. Based upon the reviews I've read, I would NOT buy this adaptor.
